The Field Engineering Program provides on-site technical direction and project engineering to customer-owned utility, nuclear power plants. This opportunity begins with a 12-month training program that establishes business and technical skills for engineers to operate confidently and independently as Field Engineers for GE Hitachi Nuclear.
As a member of the Field Engineering Program, you will:
Participate in classroom training in the GE Hitachi Services Training Facilities in Wilmington, NC and San Jose, CA
Participate in individualized experience-gaining assignments in field locations following training
Be responsible for project proposing, planning, scheduling, cost estimating, process development, team training, and on-site delivery of Nuclear Services projects, including integration and coordination of project work with other GE and Customer teams, post training
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
Ability and willingness to travel globally (extensive)
Ability and willingness to complete frequent overtime or weekend work and occasional shift-work
Ability and willingness to gain unescorted access to nuclear power plants
Ability and willingness to obtain proper work authorization (this position may be supported by a J-1 Visa)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Well developed PC skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Technical competence, customer orientation, results oriented, business management orientation, leadership ability, and flexibility
